About the Role:

We are currently hiring a Vice President – Risk and Control Management for a leading multinational captive organization in Hyderabad. This pivotal role will be responsible for driving the organization’s risk management strategy and ensuring robust control frameworks across all business units. The role demands a seasoned professional with deep expertise in risk management, control governance, and a proven ability to lead and influence within a complex, global environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Risk and Control Oversight: Lead the design, development, and implementation of the risk management framework to ensure all risks are effectively identified, assessed, and managed. Develop comprehensive strategies to mitigate potential risk exposures and maintain a risk-aware culture across the organization.
  • Control Governance: Establish and maintain an effective control governance framework to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards. Oversee regular control testing and assessments to validate control effectiveness and identify opportunities for enhancement.
  • RCSA Management: Lead the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process, ensuring all key risks are identified, documented, and mitigated. Coordinate with business units to implement RCSA programs, validate controls, and address any identified gaps or weaknesses.
  • Issue Management: Manage the end-to-end issue management process, including identifying control deficiencies, developing remediation plans, and ensuring timely resolution of issues. Establish transparent reporting mechanisms to communicate risk and control issues to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a strategic advisor to senior management, providing insights and recommendations on risk and control matters. Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external auditors, regulators, and other stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a high-performing team of risk and control professionals. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the team. Provide coaching, development, and support to team members, encouraging professional growth and skill enhancement.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Control Management Expertise: Minimum of 15 years of experience in control management within Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB), Commercial Banking, or Wholesale Banking. Demonstrated success in designing and implementing risk management frameworks and control processes.
  • RCSA Experience: Extensive experience managing Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) and applying risk management methodologies to identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Issue Management and Control Governance: Proven track record in managing control issues, including their identification, assessment, remediation, and communication to stakeholders. Experience in establishing and overseeing control governance frameworks and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to assess complex risk scenarios, develop robust control solutions, and provide practical recommendations. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership and Communication: Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and build a positive team culture. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to effectively manage relationships with senior management, regulators, auditors, and other key stakeholders. Expertise in negotiating, influencing, and driving consensus on critical risk and control issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or other relevant risk management certifications.
  • Experience in global financial institutions or multinational organizations, with exposure to diverse risk environments.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and requirements for banking and financial services, including Basel III, SOX, and other industry standards.
